Greg Hansford was a Factory Kawasaki rider from Australia who contested both 250 and 350cc Grand Prix's in Europe. A great 2nd place in both classes meant he was a very versatile racer. Here in New Zealand Greg rode both the KR750 and the KR250 in-line twin cylinder two stroke to great effect on the tight and twisty NZ circuits.

Greg was supported by Team Kawasaki Australia. I had little money and had to race hard to earn enough prize money to get to the next race meeting. We learnt to beg, steal and borrow all that was deemed essential. A new front tire took priority over a hamburger every time.

Foot note: Greg was tragically killed at the Phillip Island circuit racing a touring car. He had spun on a very fast corner and got hit side on.
